- Pregnancy Category C: Use only if clearly necessary.

                                                                                            Avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with Nabumetone.
 
            
                                                                                            Nabumetone belongs to pregnancy category C. Nabumetone is not recommended during the last three months of pregnancy. This medicine should be used during pregnancy only if the benefits outweigh the risks. The lowest dose for the shortest time possible should be used.
 
            
                                                                                            Please consult the doctor if you are breastfeeding. Your doctor will decide whether to discontinue nursing or the medicine, taking into account the importance of the medicine to the mother.
 
            
                                                                                            Nabumetone may cause dizziness, tiredness, and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery if you experience these symptoms.
 
            
                                                                                            Please inform the doctor if you have kidney impairment before taking Nabumetone.
 
            
                                                                                            Please inform the doctor if you have liver problems before taking Nabumetone.
Common symptoms: Lethargy, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain (usually reversible).
Severe cases: GI bleeding, hypertension, renal failure, respiratory depression, coma, anaphylactoid reactions.
Management: Supportive care, activated charcoal (within 4 hrs), gastric lavage, IV fluids.
Hemodialysis is unlikely to help (due to high protein binding).
Overdoses up to 25 g have been reported without long-term harm after appropriate emergency care.
Tablets (500 mg, 750 mg): Taken orally.
1000 mg tablet: Dissolve thoroughly in a full glass (250 ml) of water before drinking.
For Osteoarthritis & Rheumatoid Arthritis
Always use the lowest effective dose for long-term therapy.
Renal Impairment
Pediatrics: Safety and efficacy not established.
Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea, indigestion, abdominal pain, constipation, gas, nausea, vomiting, gastritis, stomatitis, dry mouth, positive stool guaiac.
CNS: Dizziness, headache, fatigue, drowsiness, nervousness, insomnia, sweating.
Dermatologic: Rash, itching.
Special Senses: Tinnitus.
Others: Edema.
Hypersensitivity to nabumetone or excipients.
History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions to aspirin or other NSAIDs.
Peri-operative pain in patients undergoing CABG (coronary artery bypass graft) surgery.
NSAIDs may reduce the antihypertensive effect of ACE inhibitors.
Use caution when combining with antihypertensives and other interacting drugs.
Long-term NSAID use may cause renal toxicity (renal papillary necrosis, reduced blood flow).
Patients at highest risk: elderly, renal impairment, heart failure, liver dysfunction, those on diuretics.
Therapy should be discontinued if renal function worsens.
Store in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
